Stained Glass & Sailboats

Due to the recent increase of winter weather, there's been a dramatic decrease in colour and vibrance here on HelloQuilala.  This is the post to remedy that!  A visit to Navy Pier and the Smith Museum of Stained Glass couldn't have come at a better time.
Louis Comfort Tiffany.  He didn't just make lamps, you know ;)

Three Irises c. 1900
Three Irises is a bit of a mystery.  It was found in a Chicago-area house and it's designer and fabricator are unknown.  Now it's in a gallery hanging next to works by Louis Comfort Tiffany and John LaFarge.  How cool is that?

My Week With Marilyn

Passed by the giant statue of Marilyn Monroe while out exploring.  What a great view to pass by on one's way to the work in the mornings...

Discovery

I am not one to usually go out in a city and immediately hit up every tourist destination they have to offer, but in Chicago I definitely feel the need to do so.  The city has so much to offer.
There we are!
Here's a little video I made.  Taken from my phone, so sorry for the terrible quality.  It's better if you watch it on YouTube here.

Crisp.

Tonight was our Rosemont opening night at the Allstate Arena.  Such a good show!  Seats were full and the energy was incredible.  Just one more reason to love Illinois so far.

The Windy City

This is my first post coming from my iPhone!
Had a good day today exploring downtown Chicago. Got some shopping done at Topshop and experienced some amazing deep dish pizza at Lou Malnati's (highly recommended).
Here are some photos from my instagram:
I have a lot of fun, interesting things planned for tomorrow, so I'll be posting again soon.

Mix It Up

It's been forever since I've done an OOTD post.  Here is one from when we were in Philly over Christmas.  Also threw in some random photos taken over the last week.

In more recent news, we've finally arrived in Chicago!  Looking forward to discovering this city.

Winter

Here in Cleveland, it's finally winter in January.  Back home our first snowfall usually happens in late October/November.  This was also my first non-white Christmas.  I'm liking this change so far!

10 Minutes in Detroit

This week, we made a short side trip up to Canada.
It was interesting to be back in my home country after over 5 months.  I didn't expect to feel any change, but after spotting at least 4 different Tim Hortons' within 20 minutes from crossing the border... it was difficult not to start feeling slightly patriotic ;)
Cruising down the street: the therapeutic qualities of being behind the wheel.
On the way back, we "accidentally" detoured off the toll road and drifted into Elmore, OH, a quaint, small town filled with character.  Definitely left a positive impression on me.

I drove back, as night fell along with the snow.
